Băneşti este un sat şi comună din raionul Teleneşti. Din componenţa comunei fac parte localităţile Băneşti și Băneştii Noi. Localitatea se află la distanţă de 8 km de oraşul Teleneşti şi la 90 km de Chișinău. La recensămîntul din anul 2004 populaţia satului constituia 2319 oameni. Satul Băneşti a fost menționat documentar în anul 1437.
